PACE - the Provelio staff Annual Charity Event has been established to raise money for a different disability-related cause each year through a physically challenging event, which in turn helps promote staff fitness and well-being.

Over the last 3 years, the PACE team has successfully raised over £19,500.

The 2008 Event - The Yorkshire 3 Peaks (27-29 June 2008)

This year's event will take place between 27-29 June 2008. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk is a very demanding but rewarding walk, which takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres - 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres - 2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723 metres  2,372 feet) all in one circular route.

The walk is 24.5 miles (39.2km) long and involves over 5,000 feet (1,600 metres) of climbing. The PACE team will aim to complete this in 12 hours.

We will be raising funds this year for the Barbara Russell Neurological Children's Ward at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

The 2007 Event - The Across Wales Walk

The PACE team of 13 walkers successfully completed the gruelling Across Wales Walk over-night between the 8-9 June, covering almost 50 miles in 23 hours, starting out from Anchor Bridge near Clun on the Shropshire/Wales border, and ending at Clarach Bay, north of Aberystwyth. Well done to everyone who was involved.

We are delighted to report that we exceeded our original fundraising target of £5,000 for the Newbury and District Cancer Care Trust. We raised a grand total of £9,275. Thank you to everyone who sponsored the team.

A cheque was presented to the Trust on Thursday 4 October. (Below is a copy of the article that appeared in the Newbury Today Newspaper on Thursday 11 October).
