On the 15th December 2009 a topping up ceremony was hosted at the Combe Down Stone Mines site, signifying the end of this monumental project, on which Provelio have been client side Project Managers since 2005.
The ceremony involved key representatives from Bath and North East Somerset Council, Community Groups and the Homes and Communities Agency placing the last concrete as the miners emerged from underground for the final time. Nearly 600,000 cubic meters of foamed concrete has been pumped into the mines since the project started.
The event also included a 3D film to show the mines and their expanse under Combe Down before they were filled in.
