Simon Britton is one of the first qualified BREEAM Education Assessors in the country and has joined forces with Provelio. He will provide BREEAM Assessment Services to the Education Sector including Schools, Further Education and Higher Education Institutions.
Provelio has extensive experience in this sector and this, combined with Simon’s BREEAM qualifications, will allow us to provide a comprehensive service to all Clients.
Under the new Higher Education specific scheme all new buildings supported by public funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England, Scottish Funding Council, Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and Central Government are expected to meet at least the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Standard. Many organisations also require BREEAM ‘Very Good’ for refurbishment projects.
A new-build or major refurbishment project can be assessed at the design or post construction stage. Formal certification requires a licensed assessor to submit verified evidence to the BRE (for QA purposes) who will issue an interim or final certificate depending on the assessment stage. The BRE also provide a tool to assist clients in preparing information for assessments.
Certification of schemes is only available through a licensed assessor.
Provelio are now able to offer all management services for projects to be assessed under the BREEAM Education and Higher Education schemes.
