This annual charity event has successfully raised more than £25,000 over the past five years, and in 2009 the team completed a 30 mile overnight hike along the West Mendip Way.
This year the challenge is even harder, starting on June 18th the team will hike across Cornwall to raise money for the Bath Royal United Hospital “space to grow” appeal, helping to raise awareness and money towards a new Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit. This facility will be the first of a new generation of therapeutic healthcare buildings in the UK.
The team will hike 30 miles through the night starting at Padstow on the north coast and follow the Saints Way across Cornwall, finishing at Fowey on the south coast. The route includes the steep ascents of St Breock Downs and Helman Tor, both at 700ft above sea level. The team hope to rise to the challenge and complete the 30 mile walk in 15 hours.
Organiser Andrew Gough said “The whole company is encouraged to get involved each year whether walking or providing support throughout the hike. It’s always a real challenge for everyone involved but the end benefits always make up for any short term discomfort.”
Despite the economic climate Provelio have pledged to match what it raised £ for £.
